Presentation of SF4S for United Nations Sustainable Development Solutions Network (SDSN) and networked Nordic universities

https://www.unsdsn-ne.org/en The session Tuesday the 17th of June, 13:00-15:00 (CEST) (held online in Zoom 20+ participants) was a meeting for the wider network of nordic universities and SDSN members - this time we the focus on the future. The other invited presentations were: Magnus Ekengren from the Swedish Defense University will address how to deal with Creeping Crises. Although we might have information and facts about slow-acting threats that can turn into acute societal crises, it doesn’t generate action in our societies and what types of knowledge is needed to generate action on Creeping Crises. And Amanda Jonsson- Stockholm Resilience Centre who presented on the systematic initiative Resilience Science Must-Knows and Road to Action.
For the SF4S project, Amos Taylor from the University of Turku presented on Strategic Foresight for sustainability - that connects knowledge flows between Universities, Vocational Education and Training providers, and Industry actors, develops cooperative solutions, and generally supports the need for the transition to a more sustainable European economy. In his presentation he highlighted the foresight work-package that had run a cross sector set of interviews that results reveal the challenges to the future - namely that the” new is too new, and the old is too old” situation.
